OFFICIAL INFO:

1) What It's Like

Small town that's pretty but not much to it. Couple restaurants and bizarre number of antique stores on the main street.

2) Directions

NE Cholokka Blvd and NW Seminary Ave is the gist of where you want to be - it will be obvious. Or just search your GPS for antiques or restaurants there.

3) Time Requirements

If you love antiques I could see spending an hour and a half here. If you just want to walk up and down the main street I'd give it 20 minutes.

Experience

I always want to like Micanopy more than I do. It's a small town that's pretty. Main street has a few very touristy though still more or less authentic for the area restaurants / lunch stops. They are really into selling antiques here. I've never understood antiques in Florida since very few people lived here long enough ago to be in the period where you start calling things antiques. And the people who did live here were too busy fighting off malaria to collect nice furniture or protect it from termites. BUT - I assume they truck it in and people enjoy it and I like walking down the sidewalk here so I'll just stop there.

Not much to it but nice place to have a quiet walk and maybe get lunch. The place is absolutely shut down like you missed the apocalypse after dark.
