1) What It's Like

Park with reputation for haivng a lot of bear sign between Wekiwa and Seminole State Forest. It's a mixed forest though mostly pine. Several trails.

2) Kinds of Birds

Heard some birds but didn't really see much.

3) Wildlife

If there are that many deer and that many bear signs this has to be jam packed.

4) Amenities

I think there are bathrooms in here somewhere but not sure where. I've seen it grouped in with state parks but no staff on site.

5) Time Requirements

You could go for a short hike or I believe all the trails add up to 10 miles or more - so you could spend the better part of a day here.

Experience

When you arrive in the area you know you are in the right place because of all the signs with bear silhouettes and the very sturdy extra tall fences. It's somewhat near some substantial highways but you couldn't hear anything.

It wasn't clear which trail were the best so we just picked one for the day - Parking Area #2 - Ethel trail. It was basically some oak and a lot of pine but dense enough that it didn't feel like walking in a prairie. Quite a few deer were running through. Also a lot of brush etc under the pines - not a bunch of mono-culture saw palmettos.

We saw several tracks that COULD HAVE been bear but that's it - so far. Definitely returning here.
