OFFICIAL INFO:

1) What It's Like

Pull over to look at ponds with birds on side of road. Area of many planned communities (places with houses that all look the same and named after what used to be here like "Hidden Forest" or "Heron Estates"). Up the road from Celery Field on the way to Myakka State Park.

2) Kinds of Birds

We saw shore birds, egrets/herons but we barely stopped at one pond.

3) Wildlife

Pretty urban still so not much.

4) Amenities

Zero - lack of signs saying no tresspassing.

5) Time Requirements

Pulling over to glance at ponds so not much.

Experience

Crappy writeup - This was supposed to be a mild birding spot - not sure if we got the right ponds. BUT - there were a fair amount of shore birds despite being far from shore. It's under a lot of development and the restaurants charge way too much.
