OFFICIAL INFO:
1) What It's LikeSmall municiple park in Dunedin but somehow the people are interesting and there are more birds than one might expect. Not someplace to go out of your way for but worth stopping if you're nearby. 2) Kinds of BirdsMostly egrets/herons but trailhead like sign talked about hawks nesting in area. All of St.Pete gets just general birds - warblers etc - more than other areas. 3) WildlifeUrban St.Pete but probably more likely than most places to see racoons. 4) AmenitiesBBQs, Gazebos, Bathroom, trail, boardwalk. 5) Time Requirements30 minutes should do it. Or 1. ExperienceIt's just a little park in Dunnedin - more for picnics and people living nearby to take a walk. BUT - it did have more birds than one might expect. Also the people just seemed interesting. Example one was the historic chapel across the street was having a wedding with live music that I almost wanted to crash. Example two was an odd older guy flexing his muscles to music on a tiny speaker at a gazebo. Life should always be interesting like this. The park feels like it's 1/2 forest and 1/2 boardwalks on mangrove swamps. |
