OFFICIAL INFO:
1) What It's LikeIt's a short though very pretty trail to a short boardwalk to a 1,000 year old Cypress tree - and some other large ones. 2) Kinds of BirdsIt's pretty thick forest but we saw pileated woodpeckers for example. 3) WildlifeThick forest so deer etc. Part of larger Goethe State Forest. Armadillo around. 4) AmenitiesI don't recall there being bathrooms. 5) Time RequirementsIt's about a half mile trail and the tree is at the end. So half an hour would do it. ExperienceIt's a pleasant dark enclosed trail though it's wet cypress forest so get ready for mosquitoes. |
