1) What It's Like

A scenic small road to the Croom forest that tends to have wildlife along it.

2) Kinds of Birds

Turkeys are the most interesting but I often see crows and cardinals just while driving.

3) Wildlife

Deer are frequent.

Experience

If you take I75 to exit 301 - US98 - you turn left on to Croom Rital Road. It is surrounded by tall oaks pretty quickly but the first thing on the right is the paved trail and in there is the Withlacoochie River Trail - see summary of the whole area. It goes north for awhile and you'll pass Croom Silver Lake on the right and go under the I75 overpass. From this point it's trees and houses with wooden fences for the most part. There's a recessed field on the left where we've seen families of turkeys a couple of times. There's a field on the right pretty close to where the road turns by the bike parking area where we often see deer - mostly in morning or dusk. Be careful because sometimes deer just run across the road, especially when they realize hunting season is on. It's basically just a pretty road you ought to pay attention to while driving it.
