OFFICIAL INFO:

1) What It's Like

There's a pipe that might have common birds on it - that's about it. I only mention this place because it shows up on some birding lists.

2) Kinds of Birds

Cormorants, herons/egrets, gulls sitting on bridge viewable from canal side.

4) Amenities

Veterans related stuff and a building - not sure if there are bathrooms.

5) Time Requirements

5-20 minutes

Experience

Unless you are here for the veterans things the only reason to come is to look at the bypass canal / river. Cormorants take off and land here, they and gulls etc sit on the water pipe going over the canal. People fish here some as well. It's kind of a different Veteran's park - it has advertisements and it seems more about nostalgia and cool helicopters than it does a memorial... but maybe that was the goal and people like that. No idea.
