1) What It's LikeThe park is tiny but it's lush almost jungle vegetation. Creek next door. Noteworthy neighborhood because many many Amish vacation here. 2) Kinds of BirdsI'd presume titmice, cardinals, that kind of thing. 3) WildlifeCity animals. 4) AmenitiesI think there was a boat ramp, picnic area, and maybe bathrooms. If not there are businesses up road. 5) Time Requirements5-30 minutes ExperiencePinecraft is two things - literally a tiny forest park next to a creek and the area around it. Pinecraft the area is in the very unusual neighborhood in Sarasota where large numbers of Amish come down from places like Pennsylvania for vacation. They're walking around everywhere, the young ones play volleyball in large numbers, several businesses I'm guessing are Mennonite (restaurants, produce, ice cream). It's worth it just to pass through such an unheard of shift in culture here. The actual park though is also pretty unique - I felt like I was walking around the filming location for a Vietnam war movie the entire time despite the unlikely suburban Sarasota location. Lush jungle almost, just hilly enough to be interesting. Fair number of birds you could hear but not many we could see. |
